Governor Hope Uzodimma Commissions The New Ohaji-Egbema General Hospital
"The hospital is fully paid for.... Tomorrow we are commissioning exactly the same in Oguta local government, and thereafter we will also commission same in Oru East local government" ~ *Hope Uzodimma*

His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State today commissioned the brand new Ohaji-Egbema General Hospital.
Located at Umuokanne autonomous community, the hospital was constructed and equipped by the Imo State Government through the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC).

Speaking while commissioning the hospital, Governor Uzodimma declared that his government is determined to change the narrative in the oil producing areas of Imo State through prudent deployment of the 13% derivation meant for oil bearing communities as provided for under the 1999 constitution.
While thanking the people of Ohaji -Egbema for embracing him as their son, the Governor assured them that he will not mismanage their resources, but will rather change the narrative. According to Governor Uzodimma, "It is the plan of God to make the three local governments of Ohaji-Egbema, Oguta and Oru East oil and gas producing areas, so in the destiny of God, there is no room for envy"

Confirming that the hospital is well furnished with modern medical equipments, Uzodimma said, "This hospital is fully paid for from the 13% derivation allocation. In this hospital the only equipment that is not here are the equipments that are meant for tertiary hospitals and it is deliberate because I want tertiary hospitals to deal with only referrals" 
He promised to build another well equipped hospital at the Egbema axis of Ohaji -Egbema local government due to the vastness of the area. 

The occasion also afforded the Governor an opportunity to congratulate President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his electoral victory which only yesterday was reaffirmed by the judiciary.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Board of ISOPADEC, HRH Eze Professor Dele Amuzienwa Odigbo disclosed that building the new hospital was intended to provide affordable health care facilities for both preventive and curative medical services to the host communities.

Eze Odigbo commended Governor Uzodimma for his doggedness which has yielded great results in the transformation of Imo State.

"How many lions will be killed by a hunter before he will be called a killer of lions"(Ogbuagu), we all know that it is just one lion. Unlike the hunter, His Excellency Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma has done numerous projects for Imolites especially people of Ohaji Egbema" Eze Odigbo expressed.

Chief Charles Orie the Managing Director and CEO of ISOPADEC, who spoke with the press also poured encomia on the Governor for his backing in making the work of the management seamless.
