The Imo State Health Insurance Agency has commenced the enrollment of Imo citizens into phase 2 of the free access to healthcare program.

Already there is enthusiasm across the 305 INEC wards in the 27 LGAs of Imo State.

The Executive Secretary/CEO of the Imo Health Insurance Agency Dr Uche Ewelike used the occasion to express admiration for His Excellency, Dist. Senator Hope Uzodimma for providing quality, affordable, and accessible health care to Imo citizens.

According to Dr Ewelike, the fresh enrolment is targeted at providing health insurance cover to over 18,000 citizens, including, poor and vulnerable persons, Pregnant Women, Persons living with Disabilities, the aged, children under 5, plus other categories. 

Dr. Ewelike further disclosed that staff of the Agency are now in the field to ensure easy enrollment. 

Speaking further, Dr Ewelike stated that the Health Insurance Policy initiated by Governor Hope Uzodimma has previously enrolled over 66,000 persons from across the 305 wards in the 27 LGAs of Imo State into the Basic Health Care Provision Fund Programme.
