Exodus  - A Mass Departure Of People. -An analogy with Imo State politics.

Exodus is not used casually. It signifies a lot. It tells of a saga of immense proportion.

We must remember that those who lead are held to higher accountability. When such leaders fail, due to high-handedness, ineptitude, cluelessness, wickedness or ignorance, the people will make a move certainly. Pharaoh was one such leader.

Exodus is the title of the second book of the Bible's Old Testament in which the Israelites escape slavery in Egypt. The story of Exodus teaches us about our people's yearning to be free.

For Imo State PDP, we cannot know what went through the minds of those members before their decamping. We may not be able to know anything at all about why many other members are abandoning the party in droves daily. But if we take the mass exodus as a pointer, we can precisely conclude that those presently at the helm of the leadership of the party have failed their members, either as a result of ineptitude, cluelessness, ignorance, wickedness or even high-handedness.

Exodus means "to leave", and the book of Exodus tells how the nation of Israel left Egypt. It chronicles the story of their deliverance from years of bondage and how God sent Moses as an instrument of deliverance. 

Can we say that the mass exodus from Imo PDP by its members is a deliverance from bondage in the hands of the present crop of leaders.?. Can we say that by their joining the APC, God has sent Governor Hope Uzodimma(as He sent Moses) to be the instrument of deliverance?

"So, the Egyptians devised a plan to set taskmasters over the Israelites and enslave them. They made their lives miserable with hard labour. They were oppressive to the Israelites".

Did the present leadership of PDP turn into taskmasters over their members? Did they treat their members as slaves? Did they make life miserable for their members? Are they oppressive to their members?

"Pharaoh also instructed the midwives to kill the male children during birth"

Could it be true that like Pharaoh, violence was unleashed(by the new leaders) on members of the State executive of the PDP, which made them run into the arms of the APC to save their lives, as the Israelis left Egypt to save theirs?

"Exodus is significant because it means “departure.” Israel was tired of being in bondage. God is not a fan of bondage or suffering".

It appears that the mass of members of the Imo PDP are departing because they are tired of being in bondage by the present leadership. They are tired of suffering in the hands of clueless, wicked, inept, and ignorant leaders.

Moses is a humble man. God blessed Moses with good looks and favour in the sight of men. Yet, he was still humble. Moses found confidence in God, not himself. That allowed him to be the vessel for God’s chosen leader. But he wasn’t perfect. We know that as we read through his story. Yes, even God’s chosen leaders make mistakes. But Moses had a close friendship with God.

Is Governor Hope Uzodimma not a man with good looks yet humble? Does Uzodimma not have a close friendship with God? Is Uzodimma, not a vessel in God's hand?

Now hear Governor Uzodimma and judge for yourself,

"I have come to be the Governor of Imo State because I asked God that I want to be the Governor and I made a pledge to Almighty God, knowing what my visions were -  that if he makes me the Governor of Imo State, I will move Imo State from where it is now to the next level. Fortunately for me, the Almighty God did it. What is remaining now, is for me to do my own. I understand that God is watching all of us. Those working with me and those who are not working with me. Those who are in support of me and those who are against us. It's like a boat and by the grace of God, the boat will not sink.

"The God I serve is a real God. He is a powerful God. The Alpha and Omega. He is the beginning and he is the end" Our Christian belief is that everything cometoutrightht only if approved by God and that nothing is too hard for him to resolve".~ Hope Uzodimma.

Little wonder members of the opposition parties are joining the Governor in his mission to deliver Imo State. Things are coming out right for Imo State.

Join Governor Uzodimma now in his triumphant procession towards a second term in office. By the Grace of God, the boat will not sink. God is the Alpha and Omega.
