ANGRY WITH  DEVELOPMENT
•••••• Defeatists and Skeptics, Promoting Malice.

Have you noticed that there is a ceaseless attempt to polarize Imo State? There is an emergence of a group characterized by pervasive negativity towards the development of Imo State.

Habitual negative thinking and sentiment have become the rhetoric of the opposition in Imo State. You see it on a daily basis.

The aspiration to gain power has led the opposition into adopting a  strategy of fostering naysayers, who exist to promote dissension, heightening malicious intents, and attempting to undermine all the economic and developmental programs of the government.

These actions are aimed at facilitating the opposition party's ascension to power, at the detriment of the larger interest of Imo State and her citizens.

Recent illustrations of this spectacle are their criticism of the Dredging of the Oguta Lake/ Orashi River into the Atlantic Ocean and recently, the Imo State Social Security Benefit program meant to provide a cushion for citizens. The opposition in Imo State has done a tremendous disservice to our state.

A closer look at their contributions to the Imo society demonstrates only a hunt for power and nothing else. In any case, they want to benefit only themselves and a privileged few of their leaders at the expense of the vast majority of their members and society at large.

Despite the government's efforts to turn things around for the better, all positive accomplishments have been distorted by this opposition cynics. Instead of supporting social cohesion as a means of bolstering the government's efforts to succeed, the prevailing narrative from the opposition focuses on dashing the hopes of the people and instilling mistrust and fear on the population.

What Imo State, need is inclusiveness and social cohesion to nurture development, regardless of political affiliations. Astonishingly, the insatiable desire to seize power has blinded the opposition to the detrimental consequences of their actions and inactions, as long as it enables their ascent to power.

They have formed themselves into a group of pessimists that fixate solely on the negative demarketing of Imo State, neglecting the fact that if the state crumbles, it will require extensive repairs involving everybody.

The Imo opposition is bent on wreaking havoc on the development of the state with their destructive attitudes while supporting those things that are hindering the progress of the state. Their insatiable desire for power has blinded them and their activities have contributed tremendously to the suffering experienced by a cross-section of the population.

With the array of developmental mileage already covered by Governor Hope Uzodimma, his opponents are feeling powerless which is a miserable experience for them. No wonder they are carelessly and endlessly throwing all sorts of mud expecting that it will hit a target and stick against the Governor.

In their anger, they have become sleepless, fearful, rude and aggressive. What a shame.
