GOVERNOR UZODIMMA SIGNS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH NIGER DELTA DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION ( NDDC) for major road projects in Imo State. 

▪Nkwerre - Umudi - Dikenafai Rd
▪Avu -Etekuru - Adapalm - Ohaji Road.
▪ Imerienwe - Etche Road

"I approached NDDC, and requested that we come together - put our heads together - to be able to find a lasting solution to non-completion of existing NDDC projects in Imo State" ~ Uzodimma. 

"Because of security related issues, the expatriates had to pull back - But His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma said No, that there is no way we can allow roads of paramount importance to communities to be abandoned - Hope Uzodimma has restored hope to the people of Imo State - He represents excellence in governance - we can hardly recognise the Government House - its a shining bright environment ~ NDDC Boss.

"I was left with no option than to look for local solutions by procuring competent and capable local contractors to partner with NDDC while we provide part-funding to ensure completion"~ Governor Hope Uzodimma 

History was made today at the New Exco Chamber of the Imo State Government House as the Imo State Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for the construction of three critical road infrastructures in Imo State. 

The roads are the:
▪ Nkwerre-Umudi-Dikenafai Road
▪Avu-Etekuru-Adapalm-Ohaji-Egbema Road.
▪ Imerienwe-Etche Road.

Speaking at the signing ceremony,  His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State stated that the Imo State Government is going to partner with the NDDC to see to the realization of the projects. He said, "We are going to support NDDC with part-funding, we are going to support them with local logistics to ensure that the enabling environment is there for the contractor to work...at the end of the day, it will be a win-win situation for all of us".

The Governor disclosed that, "having seen the problem, we as a state government approached NDDC, procured local contractors who has the knowledge of the geography and who will also manage all community related issues, and by the Grace of God, the projects will be completed within record time".

Continuing the Governor said, " I am happy - I am excited - I am elated and Imo people are appreciative of the activities of NDDC in Imo State".

On the part of NDDC, the CEO and Interim Administrator, Dr. Effiong Akwa poured encomium on Governor Hope Uzodimma. According to him, "Hope Uzodimma has restored the hope of the people of Imo State"

Dr. Akwa went further to state that the entire management of NDDC came to Owerri for a strategic  partnership with the people of Imo State over NDDC projects.

He thanked the Governor for getting competent local contractors and providing  counterpart funds to ensure that the jobs are completed.

After the signing ceremony, His Excellency took the visiting NDDC team to inspect the ongoing construction of the Avu-Etekuru-Adapalm-Ohaji-Egbema road.

• Barr. Stephen Ighomuaye - Director of Legal Services. 
• Engr. Amefiok Iniokut - Ag. Director Utility, Infrastructure Waterways Development.
