EKE UKWU OWERRI MARKET - Rising From The Debris Of Destruction.
In his quest for sustainable economic development for the benefit of lower-income households, Governor Hope Uzodimma embarked on the reconstruction of the destroyed Eke Ukwu Owerri market. 

With an estimated completion period of 18 months, the construction of the new Eke Ukwu Owerri has significantly advanced after a few months of mobilization to site by the contractors under a Public, Private Partnership arrangement. 
Upon completion, the commencement of trading activities, the market will be a key factor and an important tool on economic development of the state.
The new market layout includes:-

▪Retail Shops - 1,728 units.
▪Specialized Shops - 340 units.
▪Warehouse  - 72 units.
▪Cold Room - 12 units.
▪Open Stalls / Lockup Shops - 240 units.
▪Banks  - 4 units.
▪Fire Station.
▪Police Post.
▪Public Toilets
▪Water Tank
▪ATM Gallery.
▪Security Post  - 7 units.
▪Incinerator.
▪Car Park
▪Multi Level Car Park
▪Open Stalls 

The project is scheduled for completion in eight months.
