Tokenism- The Hallmark Of Failed Representation~Prince Eze Ugochukwu.
Tokenism is defined as the practice or policy of making no more than a token effort or gesture done for the sake of appearances. They are nominal and often minimal.
Offensively starring Nigerians in the face are amusing characters and personalities prancing around dangling crumbs on hungry and farmished citizens as dividends of democratic representation.
Comic characters who rode on the broken backs of the poor masses to amass illegal and stolen wealth from government has reduced the art of representation to tokenism.
You hardly can see any tangible or lasting legacy-project attributed to them. Their ineffective occupation of political office has led to insecurity, failed healthcare services, educational decay, joblessness, and economic doldrums. This is where Nigeria has found itself at the moment.
Steeped in primitive accumulation of ill-gotten wealth, these shameless prankstars have destroyed the moral fabrics of our society.
The #Endsars agitation has clearly exposed the angst of the poor masses towards these buccaneers. Sooner or later, the centre will no longer hold for these enemies of the people.
