Governments Can Make Tactical Policy Changes To Remain Relevant.~Prince Eze Ugochukwu.

In today's world, the position of things changes quite rapidly. This ranges from technological, socio-political, economic, and environmental changes. Nothing ever remains the same.
A government may need to alter and modify its strategic focus and even the method of communicating her programs and policies to the public at large in order to meet ever changing circumstances.
Every government must adapt to survive or else fall behind as society advances. Developmental plans need to be redefined and re-adapted depending on emerging situations. Nothing is wrong with making tactical changes in policies, programs, slogans, symbols and communications strategy.
It is very important for governments to seek-out emerging trends, behaviours, inventions and innovations and find ways to adopt same to achieve the core purpose of government as agent and catalyst of change and development.
What the electorates want is a government that can solve societal ills. The people will easily switch support, avoid and even boycott any government that cannot solve basic problems. Thus changes are inevitable.
Yes a government can once be admired. But notwithstanding; the same government previously admired can loss its relevance and thereafter face downward decline. Here, the government will need to inject new life and reinvigorate its appeal and come back to life.
Even when a government ceases to exist, it is completely not forgotten, and still evoke some nolstagia which can be either positive or negative. Therefore a sitting government can recapture lost grounds over time as long as it puts in place, strategies to meet changing situations and circumstances.
Government's go into decline when they fail to deliver quality development that meets the peoples standards. Complacency, which is a sense of satisfaction with one's achievements, without the awareness of some potential danger, or defect lurking around can be harmful. A government should be able to regenerate so as to avoid rejection by the people.
At times, it becomes increasingly difficult for a government to manage and maintain a consistent communication strategy. Often, communication breakdowns do occur when marketing a government policy, or even when defending such policy. A properly streamlined mechanism for interface with the electorate will save a government from embarassment which leads to rejection by the people.
Sometimes the activities of government may no longer meet the expectations of the people. When this occur, new collaborations, partnerships with other critical stakeholders and professionals can help a government bounce back into the good books of the people.
Finally, governments need to recognize signs of disaffection and rejection by the people early enough, and quickly make suitable adjustments to prevent a downward spiral.
