Imo State: As Secondary Schools Re-Open, Govt Provides Health Safety Materials.
As secondary schools reopen in Imo State for the WAEC and final year passing out examinations, the provision of health safety materials for schools has commenced.
Already, the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Public Safety, Hon. Prince Ugochukwu Nzekwe has embarked on a second round visitation of schools across the state to monitor the deployment of materials.
According to Hon. Nzekwe, the compliance level has reached 80% so far.
Amongst the secondary schools so far visited which includes Alvana Secondary School and Akwakuma Girls in Owerri, preparedness are on top gear as students have started arriving.
It will be recalled that the Special Adviser on Public Safety had recently visited some institutions of learning as a prelude to schools reopening in the state.
Some of the materials provided by the government includes, temprature checking instruments, hand sanitizers and washing hand basins etc.
Also emergency telephone numbers of health management agencies and covid19 intervention teams are being distributed to schools to enable them contact appropriate authorities in cases of health treatening emergencies.
Hon. Nzekwe used the opportunity to thank the Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for his commitment towards the educational advancement of our secondary school students.
