Imo State Transport Ministry Conducts Covid19 Guidelines Compliance Inspections.

Imo State Commissioner for Transport, Chief(Barr) Rex C. Anunobi, on Monday visited the premises of the Imo Transport Company (ITC) along MCC/Uratta road, Owerri.
The visit was part of the Ministries enlightenment programs geared towards enforcing total compliance with covid19 safety protocols for both interstate and mass transit transportation in the state.
The Commissioner who was accompanied by a team of the ministries Monitoring, Implementation and Enforcement personnel led by the team leader, Nze Franklin Iwunze disclosed that his visit to the government owned transport company is strategic as it is meant to underscore His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma's safety commitment in the transport sector.
Barr. Anunobi who was conducted round by some top management staff led by the Operations Manager, Joseph Onyenze, expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance to guidelines and protocols in the transportation sector which according to him remains uppermost to ensuring that the dreaded virus is adequately contained in the state.
Reiterating the commitment of his ministry and his enforcement team to ensure total compliance of the guidelines considering the sensitivity of the transportation sector amid Covid-19 pandemic, Barr. Anunobi maintained that interstate and mass transit vehicles must adhere to the stipulated number of passengers to reasonably maintain physical distancing while all occupants compulsorily use facemask.
The Commissioner also explained that commuters must wash their hands under a running water or use hand sanitizers at the point of boarding.
Barr. Anunobi, further, appealed to all stakeholders in the tranportation sector to cooperate with his ministry and the Shared Prosperity Government of Senator Hope Uzodinma in the march to revolutionize the transportation sector for an improved service delivery that will also restore sanity.
