The N60bn cut will increase the already 10.1mn out of school children in Nigeria
How will this PROPOSED UBEC Fund cut IMPACT child Education in Nigeria?
While UBEC funds are tied to revenue performance, the FG must be REALISTIC with THREATS facing child Education in post #COVID19 era
2. The proposed 55% cut will not help Nigeria invest in her Human capital development thereby hampering her economic growth.
3. With counterpart funding from state govts, @ubecnigeria uses allocated funds to
Build new public schools,
Provide instructional materials,
Supply Desks and chairs
Supply textbooks and writing materials.
4. With the numerous number of dilapidated Public schools, the @NigeriaGov only allocated N13.8bn for 293 UBEC Projects in 2018.

5. Under the 8th NASS, CSOs advocated that the FG #AmendUBEAct so the CRF can increased from 2% to 5%.
In 2019, most states were able to provide UBEC counterpart funding due to the FG directive that it be deducted from the Paris Club fund.
6. The proposed UBEC fund cut means there will be lesser intervention children learning in Public schools
The @Mbuhari govt needs to stop this Education Neglect culture.
How do we motivate children to learn?
How do we motivate teachers to give their best?
7. Due to the impact of #COVID19, @NigeriaGov must cut frivolous spending and allocate more funds to public schools renovation thereby increasing child enrolment.
The proposed UBEC Funds we want to further neglect our 5 -12 yr olds who will shape our economic future.
