NIGERIA: Imo Assembly Passes Waste Management Agency Bill
Imo State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed the State Waste Management Agency Bill 2020.
The bill was passed at the plenary following a Bill presented to the House by the Majority leader and member representing Ikeduru state constituency, Hon. Uche Ogbuagu.
Presenting the Bill, Hon. Ogbuagu noted that the main focus of the bill is to ensure cleanliness, reduce the work load of Imo ENTRACO for efficiency, create employment and help in revenue generation.
The Speaker, Rt.Honourable Chiji Collins, who presided over the plenary session, said, the bill would guarantee environmental cleanliness and add to the revenue generation sources of the state.
He then charged the executive to ensure the effective implementation of the bill after the assent of the governor, with a view to ensuring that the purpose is served.
